Taronga Zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo, as a last minute family outing. It was the first time taking Jeremy, our niece Trinity and of course, Jaiden.

I was so excited to take Jaiden. He knew most of his animals which was a good thing because he knew what we were looking at. But I think Jeremy had the most fun out of everyone. He enjoyed seeing and reading about each animal we visited. Jeremy found his favourite animal, which was the Indian Star Tortoise. He even asked if we could get one as a pet lol. Jaiden had a couple of favourites; turtles, lions, tigers, monkey (chimps/gorillas) and the elephants.

We went to the kids trail, which I didn't even know existed. It was a good place for Jaiden. He was more familiar with the animals there since they were just farm animals. He was even brave enough to feed the goat. I was surprised Jaiden knew what a Kangaroo was, but unfortunately when we went to them, they were at the very back and was hard for Jaiden to spot.

Because we arrived just before 1:30pm, we only had3.5 hours to explore and because of this, we unfortunately were only able to see one show, which was the bird show. It was still good and Jeremy loved it. But next time, we definitely will be going earlier and actually plan the day ahead so we can see all the shows and also have a go on the skyscraper they have.

We stayed until they closed and made a pit stop at Ben and Jerry's to grab some dessert since it was just on the way as well.

Four years of LOVE

On April 9, Jeremy and I reached our four years of being together and celebrated on April 13.

We started the day off by having breakfast as a family together and then dropped Jaiden to my mums. Made our way to the city and was 2 hours earlier than our estimated check-in time. So we checked-in and since our room wasn't yet ready, we just walked around CBD. Took a quick look around at Tiffany and Co. and had a quick feed at Pitt St. Westfields before making our way to Circular Quay for our Harbour Bridge climb.

Considering I am absolutely terrified heights, the thought of climbing the bridge didn't hit me, even when I had a good 2/3 weeks of knowing about it, even when we started climbing. But as soon as I saw water below my feet, I started shitting it. I grabbed on the railings on both sides of me, walked like an old woman, one step at a time, two feet on one step on the stairs. If I i couldn't get hold of a railing on either side of me, I'd immediately think I would fall and start to panic. Lucky Jeremy and I were the last two people of the group because I certainly would have delayed everyone behind us.

There was one moment when we were walking down the stairs when we were finishing up, and since I was so slow, Jeremy ended up nudging me forward and I froze for what felt like 5 minutes and had a mini heart attack and even nearly cried. And yes, I honestly thought I was going to fall forward lol.

My favourite part of the climb was when we reached the top and stayed for a few minutes just overlooking the whole of Sydney. It was so beautiful and I was able to spend that moment with Jeremy :) Despite I thought I nearly died, it was an amazing thing to experience! Highly recommended to be done, if you're ever in Sydney!

When we finished, we made a little grocery run and made our way to our hotel room. When we got in, I was so in love. We had a foyer with champagne waiting for us, the bathroom was like a walk in wardrobe and the room was massive. So, we cancelled our dinner reservations and walked down the road from our hotel and got take-away Tony Roma's and pigged out in our hotel room. Took advantage of our spa and spent the whole night there.

The next morning, we helped ourselves to a buffet breakfast before packing up. After checking out, we had a little stroll to The Star and got ourselves some Adriano Zumbo goodies. I loved the food court at The Star! Afterwards, we made our way back home to our Jaiden.

Easter Long Weekend 2012

This year for Easter Friday, Jaiden and I spent it with Hariette and her family. We attended the 'Stations of the Cross' followed with a picnic at Warragamba Dam.  Jeremy stayed home because Sister-in-law and her family were over, so he cooked up a fish filled lunch for them.

On Easter Saturday, we went to Freshwater Beach for the day with my family. Jaiden stayed amongst the rocks where there were little rock pools and played there for the whole day. It was a little too cold to swim though, so it was only my cousin Roden who swam out of all of us.
It was a good family day out. I love doing things like this with my family.

At night, I went out with Hariette and her uni girlfriends, Emily and Jamie. We started the night off with dinner at a Spanish restaurant, Capitan Torres Restaurant. Followed with clubbing at Luxe, Martin Place Bar. I also bumped into my my primary school friend Julie. It was so good seeing her, after almost 10 years!

Easter Sunday was rest day for Jaiden and I, and work for Jeremy.

Easter Monday was Jeremy's and my 4 year anniversary. Since we planned to celebrate it on another day, we just went out to our local mall and had a little family day out.
